Jammu and Kashmir police arrested two labourers from Uttar Pradesh (UP) for murder of their colleague in central Kashmir district of Badgam, police said.
A police spokesman said that on September 17 evening police station Budgam received information that one person has been killed at Brick Kiln located at Labartal Budgam .
He said some labourers had a scuffle after heated argument between themselves over some issue. He said a 35-year-old labourer namely Maan Singh resident of Bagdar District Shahjahanpur UP got seriously injured and accordingly shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
In this regard, a case under relevant sections was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up.
During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that two accused were involved in the crime who were absconding after commission of offence. After sustained efforts by Police, Saturday morning one accused identified as Dinesh Singh son of Kali Caran resident of Bagdar district Shahjahanpur UP was arrested from Nasrullapora area of Budgam .
With strenuous efforts by Station House Officer (SHO) Budgam, another accused namely Roop Ram son of Ram Burase resident of Bagdar District Shahjahanpur UP was also arrested from Budgam Railway Station when he was trying to flee.
The dead body of the victim has been shifted to District Hospital Budgam for legal formalities and will be handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
