Salman Khan and Revathy reunited after over three decades of starring together in the 1990 film Love. Revathy, who has directed the upcoming film Salaam Venky, appeared on Bigg Boss 16 with the film’s star Kajol in the latest episode of the show. Salman hosts the Weekend Ka Vaar episodes of the show every week.
On Bigg Boss 16, Salman introduced Revathy as ‘one of my earliest co-stars’. When Revathy appeared on stage, Salman walked to her to receive her and gave her a hug with a big smile. The song Saathiya Tune Kya Kiya from their 1990 film Love played in the background as Salman took Revathy by her hand and began to dance, surprising her. The actor-turned-director responded to his invite and the two danced for a bit as the audience cheered and Kajol applauded them from the stage.
At that moment, Salman revealed that the two will be reuniting on screen soon. “This is my Maggi, my priyatama (beloved),” he said, referring to Revathy’s character in Love. “Now, she is also doing Tiger with me.” A surprised Kajol asked Revathy, “really?” The director nodded in agreement.
There had been reports claiming Revathy was set to appear in Tiger 3, the next instalment of Salman’s successful franchise but not opposite Salman. As per unconfirmed reports, Revathy will play the R&AW chief in the film. In previous films, the late Girish Karnad had played the chief. The film, which will release in 2023, also stars Katrina Kaif and reportedly also features a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan.
But before that, Revathy is looking forward to the release of her directorial Salaam Venky, starring Kajol and Vishal Jethwa. The film, which highlights the courageous journey of a mother and her differently-abled son, will release on December 9. The film also stars Aahana Kumra, Rahul Bose, Rajeev Khandelwal, Prajash Raj, and Priyamani.
