Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra has been released from jail in connection with the alleged production of pornographic content.

A Mumbai court on Monday granted businessman Raj Kundra bail in the pornographic content case. Kundra has been asked to furnish a surety of Rs 50,000 by the court.
Ryan Thorpe, the IT head of one of Raj Kunda’s Firm , has also been granted bail by the Metropolitan magistrate court.
Advocate Prashant Patil, representing Raj Kundra, argued in court that the celebrity and producer decide what kind of content is to be uploaded on the platform. “It was not Kundra or Ryan who were deciding what was to be uploaded. In the 1400-page chargesheet, there was not a single piece of evidence showing that Kundra was uploading,” said Patil.
Both Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe were arrested by the Mumbai Police Crime branch in July of this year in connection with the alleged production and distribution of pornographic content.
The matter first came to light during a raid on a bungalow in Mumbai’s Madh area in February of this year. Officials had found that pornographic content was being shot inside the bungalow.
A probe into the matter led to the arrest of Umesh Kamat, an associate of Raj Kundra.
The initial chargesheet in the case was filed against nine individuals in April of this year.
