Local police booked a Punjabi actress on the charges of using caste remarks.
Station House Officer (SHO) Aman Saini said the accused has been identified as Jasleen Kaur living at Nakodar.
Valmik Surakhya Sena Punjab president Balwindar Singh, its chairman Dharmindar Nagal and its Advisor R K Nahar complained to the police that a video of Punjabi actress Jasleen Kaur has been made viral on social media in which she is insulting a person using casteist remarks, banned words and filthy language which have deeply hurt Valmik community and created strong resentment against her and she should be booked and sent behind bars.
The SHO said that a case under section 3(1) (X) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 has been registered against the accused and Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police Lakhwindar Singh Mall is investigating further.
