The visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been preponed by two days and now he will visit Lucknow on September 28 when he will hand over the keys of the completed houses under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban’ to 75,000 beneficiaries during the three-day flagship projects program here, officials said here on Wednesday.
This programme will be held from September 26 to 28 at the Indira Gandhi Prathisthan.
Earlier, PM Modi was scheduled to visit here on September 26 to inaugurate the 3 days programme of the Union Urban Development Ministry. But due to his visit to the US, he is now likely to come to Lucknow on September 28, to attend the valedictory function.
UP Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon had recently met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi to finalise the programme of the PMs visit, an official here said on Wednesday.
During the three-day programe, an exhibition showcasing the positive reforms brought about and the achievements of the urban areas of all the states will be displayed.
In addition, workshops will be held where experts from various disciplines will participate along with senior administrative officers.
A coffee table book will also be released by Smart City Mission, UP on this occasion.
Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation of several projects of the Urban Development Ministry during the programme.
