Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday lashed out at former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti over her remarks on Pakistan’s victory against India in the T20 World Cup cricket match.
“Mehbooba Mufti’s DNA is defective, she has to prove how much of an Indian she is,” Anil Vij was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Taking to Twitter, Mehbooba Mufti on Monday asked “why such anger against Kashmiris for celebrating Pakistan’s win” while adding that “one hasn’t forgotten how many celebrated by distributing sweets” following the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier today, Anil Vij also alleged that the DNA of those who burst firecrackers in India to celebrate Pakistan’s victory in the T20 World cup match cannot be Indian. He also added that one needed to be careful of “traitors” hiding in one’s own country.
“The DNA of those who burst firecrackers in India on Pakistan winning a cricket match cannot be Indian. Be careful of the traitors hiding in our own house,” Anil Vij tweeted in Hindi.
Pakistan had registered a 10-wicket victory over India in the ICC T20 World Cup tie in Dubai on Sunday.
Post the match, a scuffle reportedly broke out scuffle reportedly broke out between some Kashmiri students and those from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar at a private engineering college in Punjab’s Sangrur district on Sunday night.
The incident at Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology in Sangrur took place after a group of students belonging to the Kashmir valley allegedly shouted pro-Pakistan slogans after the match in which India lost to Pakistan.
The slogans reportedly infuriated the students from UP and Bihar, leading to a heated clash between the two groups.
