India saw the lowest daily rise in Covid cases on Tuesday since early March as 14,313 fresh infections were logged. A total of 181 Covid-19 related deaths were reported in India in the past 24 hours according to the Union health ministry. The current recovery rate is 98.04%, highest since March 2020.
With a sharp decline of 12,449 active cases, the country’s active case load stands at 2,14,900 the ministry data showed. Active Cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.63%.
The death toll has further climbed to 45,09,63 with 181 daily fatalities, according to the Union ministry of health and family welfare.
The recovery of 26,579 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,33,20,057.
The daily positive rate has been recorded at 1.21 per cent. It has been less than 3 per cent for the last 43 days, according to the ministry data.
The weekly positive rate has been recorded at 1.48 per cent. It has been below 3 per cent for the last 109 days, the ministry said.
With the administration of 65,86,092 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccine coverage exceeded 95.89Cr (95,89,78,049) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 93,66,392 sessions.
India’s Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7 last year, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19 last year.
India recorded two crore cases on May 4 and three crore cases on June 23.
