A helicopter has reportedly crashed in the Patnitop Hills on Tuesday in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
However, Udhampur district administration said that the incident is being confirmed.
“As per initial reports, the helicopter has made a precautionary landing but we are verifying the facts,” Indu Chib, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur. “Cannot confirm about the crash,” she said.
The incident is reported from Shiv Garh Dhar of Patnitop. Reports said that it was Army’s helicopter.
Meanwhile Deputy Inspector General of Police (Udhampur-Reasi), Suleman Chowdhary told that information about an incident is received and the teams have been dispatched to the spot.
Jammu based defence spokesman here said that during a training sortie in Patnitop area, Indian Army Cheetah Helicopter crash landed in Shiv Garh Dhar area in Udhampur district.
“Two pilots have been injured and evacuated to the hospital. Further update follows,” he said.
“Due to excess fog in the area it is not clear that whether it was a crash or crash landing by the helicopter,” said the DIG.
Earlier on August 3, Army chopper crashed into the Ranjit Sagar Lake Dam in Basholi area of Kathua distric.
