Principal Secretary Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon who was on a day long visit to district Kishtwar today inspected the ITI Kishtwar and under constructed Polytechnic college kishtwar and took first hand appraisal of functioning and pace of developmental works there.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Kumar, Joint Director Skill Development Jammu, Farooq Ahmed Khan; DGM JKPCC Raman Sahini, Principal Polytechnic College kishtwar H.A. Bhardwaj; Principal ITI Kishtwar Imran Wajahat and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
At the outset in ITI Kishtwar he inspected the functioning of institute, took stock of infrastructure besides inaugurated the Information technology (IT) laboratory and 24×7 power supply 100 KVA sub station and servor stabilizer there.
Applauding the efforts undertaken by the ITI Kishtwar in the implementation of the Skill development initiatives of govt, he mentioned that district Kishtwar has a huge Employement opportunity due to the several rolled out Hydro electric power project in district so it is the need of the hour to harness the skill and talent of the local Youths in right direction for availing the opportunity.
In this regard he asked the management to motivate more and more Youths and girls to enhance their skill by opting for short time courses and value added skill development courses as per the District Skill Plan and local industrial needs so that the unemployed youth could get a job opportunity.
Besides Dr Samoon also enquired about the admission process for the current session 2021-22 in respect of ITI Kishtwar and stressed for increasing the admission capacity based upon the high demand of the skill development in the district.
During his inspection Dr. Samoon also interacted with the students and staff members listened to their grievances.
He assured them that their genuine issued will be redressed on time bound manner.
On the occasion the meritorious students were also felicitated by Principal Secretary.
Later, Dr Samoon visited the construction site of Polytechnic College kishtwar to inspect the ongoing work on the building.
He was apprised by DGM JKPCC that out of the 3 blocks which have been undertaken by JKPCC with a total estimated cost of Rs. 19.12 crores, an amount of Rs. 4.90 crores has been utilised so far, whereas the work of the amount of the Rs 3.10 crores have been tendered for.
Furthermore, DGM JKPCC apprised the Principal Secretary that in Academic Block , the column work have been completed and the upper and lower slab have been laid whereas in Administrative block first floor slab has been laid besides the brick work and plaster have been partially completed.
He further informed that 50 percent work on the Polytechnic workshop is completed and rest is under progress.
On the occasion Principal Secretary passed a slew of directions to the concerned and asked the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work so that the Three blocks will be completed in time frame manner.
DC Polytechnic college was asked to monitor the pace and quality of work to ensure the timely completion of this life line project.
