A cycling expedition was organized by Dah Division to commemorate 50 years of India’s historic victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The expedition comprising of one Officer, one Junior Commissioned Officer and ten Other Ranks was flagged off on 18 Oct 2021 from Dalhousie.
The team covered a total distance of 455 kms over eight days through challenging and inhospitable terrain of Saach Pass on the Pir Panjal Range at a height of 14,500 feet, and the disturbed areas of Kishtwar and Doda.
The expedition finally culminated at Udhampur on 26 Oct 2021 and was flagged in by Lieutenant General S Harimohan Iyer, AVSM, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Northern Command.
The team honoured and interacted with veterans en route and motivated the youth to join the armed forces. The hard work and spirit of adventure of the team was appreciated by the Chief of Staff, Headquarters Northern Command.
