Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated ‘The Chinars’, the first permanent establishment of Income Tax Department in the Union Territory, in Srinagar.
After the deadly terror attack on the Income Tax Office in 2005, it was relocated multiple times. Over 14 years later, it has got a permanent location.
The inauguration of ‘The Chinars’ becomes even more significant because it houses the newly created charge of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax in Srinagar, one of the most prominent civilian offices of the Government of India in Srinagar.
