ExpansionSecurity agencies should be alert and ready at all times to deal with terrorism. These instructions were issued by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Mukesh Singh on Saturday during a security meeting of GOC 25 Division and GOC Romeo Force held in Rajori on Saturday.
The security meeting was called nine days after the fidayeen attack on the army camp in Darhal of Rajori. It was attended by intelligence agencies, brigade commanders, SSP of Rajori-Poonch and SP Operation (Shopian). An action plan was drawn up in the meeting to deal with terrorist incidents in the border districts of Rajori and Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, a police official said.
Intelligence agencies also shared the information. The ADGP also visited Thannamandi. He was briefed by SSP Rajori Mohammad Aslam and other officials about the suspicious activities of the terrorists.
Told that on August 15, during a siege and search operation in the Sojan forest area of Samot, Rajori, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces.Taking advantage of the bad weather, the terrorists fled. Recently, two modules of Lashkar were busted in transporting the weapons dropped by Pakistani drones to Kashmir.
Five members of two terror modules, including top commander Talib Hussain, have also been arrested.The ADGP also visited the IRP 2nd Battalion Headquarters where he was given a guard of honour. The ADGP held separate meetings with the police officers and gave instructions to each officer about their role and responsibilities in countering the terrorist threat.
