The department of Linguistics and Literature, School of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Cluster University of Jammu in collaboration with Vidya Kutir Foundation organized One Day International Conference( online) on 27th March 2022, under the patronage of Prof Bechan Lal, Hon’ble Vice – Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu. Theme of this Conference was “Recent Trends in Humanities, Linguistics, Literature and Education”. The theme of Conference was introduced by Dr.Reena Salaria Head, Department of Linguistics and Literature followed by key note address by Dr. Amitabh V Dwivedi Eminent academician from School of Languages and Literature,SMVDU. Dr. Dwivedi deliberated upon the various aspects of the theme and gave an in-depth analysis of the contemporary trends in humanities, languages and arts.
The inaugural was graced by Dr. Hamid Saremi, President (Chancellor) Asrar Institute of Higher Education (deemed to be University) Mashad, Iran, as the Chief Guest on the occasion. Prof. Saremi urged the delegates and participants to update their knowledge and skills in post pandemic scenario to keep pace with changing trends. He lauded the insightful and informative discussion of the academicians from various discipline and congratulated the organizers. The patron of the Conference, Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, commended the efforts of the Dean faculty of Arts and head and faculty members of the Department of Linguistics and Literature for thinking beyond the usual and organizing an international online Conference on a current and relevant subject. Dr. Naveen Anand, Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ, presided over the function. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Geetanjali. A. Rana Convenor of the conference ,Dean faculty of Arts,CLUJ and vote of thanks was proposed by organizing secretary of the event Dr. Joginder Singh, Head Department of Dogri, M.A.M college. The event was graced by Prof. Bhopinder Singh, Controller of Examination, CLUJ, Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Student Welfare and all the Deans of various faculties of Cluster University of Jammu – Dr. Sajay Verma( sciences), Dr. Zubair kalis (Education) and Dr. Sindhu Kapoor( Social Sciences) and Principals of Constituent Colleges of the CLUJ – Prof. Ravinder Tikoo( G.G.M Sc. College), Prof. Sangeeta Nagari ( PSPS College for Women Gandhinagar), Prof. G.S.Rakwal ( M.A.M. College), Prof. Kulvinder kaur ( Govt. College of Education), and Prof. R.S.Jamwal ( S.P.M.R College of Commerce) and Chairpersons of technical sessions, delegates and participants.
More than Ninety abstracts from different parts of country and abroad, from different streams of Humanities ,were received and eighty seven papers were presented and thoughtfully deliberated upon ,in the technical sessions. The technical sessions were chaired by Prof. Monika Sethi, Department of English, JU, Prof. Rashmi Attri, Department of English, A.M.U, Prof. Sabita Tripathy, Department of English, Sambalpur university, Orissa, Dr. Joginder Singh,HOD Dogri, M.A.M college and Dr.Sushil Kumar Tiwari, Department of Education Jamshedpur Women University.
The Conference was a learning experience for the participants as they got an opportunity to interact with scholars and academicians , who shared their knowledge and valuable thoughts. Mr. Manish Bisht from Vidya kutir Foundation ( conference Partner) presented vote of thanks at the end of last technical session. The online event was a great success and will go a long way in widening the horizons of knowledge.
