As part of 75th Tithwal Day celebrations, Shakti Vijay Brigade of Indian Army organised a multi speciality medical, dental and eye camp at Chhamkot, Karnah here. The camp spanned over two days with doctors of Indian Army, Civil Administration, SDH Tangdhar, NGOs and corporate houses providing medical, dental and eye care. Medical doctors will include general practitioners, medical specialists, orthopaedic surgeon, paediatrics and gynecologists. In addition, dental officers of Army also established dental chair for providing medical care. Borderless World Foundation, a NGO based in Pune is participated in the camp with twelve doctors.In a new initiative special focus was given to provide eye care in coordination with Dr Omar Rashid, MBBS MS Ophthalmologist who has worked with Aravind Eye Care, Zeiss Lens ( a German manufacturer of optical system and opto electronics), Safilo India Pvt Ltd, both based in Bangalore and Titan Eye, the eye services arm of Titan Company Ltd of world renowned Tata Group. Collectively they will provide eye care to include checkups, providing spectacles and further eye surgeries on referral. Irfan Shah (from Sopore), eminently involved in the field of education and social service has played a stellar role in coordinating with Dr Rashid and providing medicines. Hundreds of people benefited from multi speciality camp. Medicines and eye services were provided free of cost to all. People attending the camp were educated on health and hygiene related aspects. The doctors were also felicitated by the people as thanksgiving for providing medical services at door step.
