The police in Jammu arrested a man for allegedly abducting and raping a minor girl under jurisdiction of Domana in city outskirts on Monday.
Police said, “On May 27, a written complaint was lodged by the father of a minor girl (name withheld) against the accused person namely Anil Kumar (24) son of Parshotam Lal, a resident of Chak Bhalwal Jammu alleging him for kidnapping his minor daughter and commit rape while she was going to school.”
“On this, case FIR No 193/2022 U/S 363 376,342 IPC and 3/4 Pocso Act was registered at police station Domana and investigation was started”, police said.
The police statement added that special teams of police station Domana under the supervision of SDPO Domana Sunil Singh were constituted.
A team led by SHO Domana inspector Tilak Raj assisted by PSI Danish Qaiser connected the various leads and with the support of technical assistance and CCTV footages of the areas they finally arrested the accused from Chack Bhalwal area of the city.
Police said that during sustained questioning the accused confessed his involvement in the crime.
After completing all the legal formalities, the victim was handed over to her legal guardians.
Meanwhile further investigation of the case is going on.
