India logged 20,408 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours according to the data released by Union health ministry. With 44 new fatalities, it pushed India’s COVID-19 tally of cases to 4,40,00,138, death toll to 5,26,312
The country’s active caseload currently stands at 1,43,988 with 0.33 per cent. The recovery rate currently at 98.48 per cent.
In the last 24 hours 22,697 recoveries have taken place increasing total recoveries to 4,33,09,484.
The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 5.12 per cent and weekly positivity rate at 4.82 per cent.
A total of 87.44 crore tests have conducted so far; 3,98,761 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
Delhi recorded 1,245 fresh COVID-19 cases on Friday, the highest single-day rise in over a month, with a positivity rate of 7.36 per cent while one more person succumbed to the viral disease, according to data shared by the health department here.
The daily count of coronavirus cases also breached the 1,000-mark for the third consecutive day, while the positivity rate in the city was above five per cent for the seventh day in a row.
Delhi had recorded 1,128 COVID-19 cases on Thursday with a positivity rate of 6.56 per cent, and zero death.
Maharashtra on Friday reported 1,997 new COVID-19 cases, a drop of more than 200 from a day ago, while six more patients succumbed to the infection in the state, the health department said.
