Director School Education Kashmir Tasaduq Hussain Mir on Monday launched Home-Based Leaning (HBL) Module Titled “Anganshalla” at a ceremony held in Srinagar.
Anganshalla has been prepared by Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW), with technical assistance of Eduweave Foundation, a statement said.
Anganshalla is aimed to engage children of pre-primary age within their respective home environments for holistic learning, development and school preparedness till schools and anganwadis reopen, it added
While releasing the HBL module “Anganshala”, the Director School Education Kashmir said that the HBL module is the need of the hour given the prevailing situation that has arised due to Covid-19 pandemic.
He further emphasised the importance of play-way methods for the education of pre-primary children.
Hussain appreciated efforts of UNICEF/JKASW for initiating the pilot on HBL.
JKASW, supported by UNICEF- India aims to reach out to 6000 children in the age category of 3-6 years to pilot the first phase of Home-Based Learning across 550 locations in all 10 districts of Kashmir.
Danish Aziz, Education Specialist J&K UNICEF, stressed on the need of HBL for pre-primary age groups who have been deprived of schooling since last two years of pandemic.
While sharing the overview of the HBL, Executive Director-JKASW, Ashfaq Ahmad Mattoo thanked state resource persons from DSEK, SCERT-K&J, DSEJ, SAMAGRA Shiksha and Eduweave Foundation for their inputs and efforts in formulating the HBL module.
The event was attended by Shamsuddin JD SCERT, Tahira Hilali Principal DIET Srinagar, Syed Fayaz State Coordinator ECCE Samagra Shiksha, Dr. Urfana Amin, Rehana Qausar, Dr. Nasreen Bano, Nazir Ahmad Motta, Zahoor Ahmad, and other attendees of education department and JKASW.
At the end Vote of thanks was presented by Ambreen Bashir, state resource person ECCE JKASW.
