The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is a statutory body setup under an act of Parliament in 1980 and this premier national body functions under the jurisdiction of Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
The Institute has more than 70 regional chapters and 65000 plus members across the Country. ICSI has been contributing to the initiatives of Government of India that have potential to excel the socio-economic growth of the country reads the introduction on its website.
The vision of the institute is to be a global leader in promoting Good Corporate Governance. Registrar of Companies Srinagar, Haamid Bukhari while extending his best wishes to newly elected chairperson asked him to popularise the mandate of various stakeholders as per relevant provisions of Companies Act and ensure the compliance rate of highest degree in J&K besides organising the seminars and outreach summits to make everyone aware of different facets of Corporate Governance.
He further asked the ICSI Srinagar Chapter office bearers to take advantages of different schemes of the Ministry of Corporate affairs and facilitate more and more incorporations so that the in-formalisation of economy is transformed into formal body corporates in the form of incorporated companies and limited liability partnerships.
Bukhari after joining the newly effectively operationalised Srinagar office in September 2019 had various outreach and interactive events with the Srinagar Chapter in which the threadbare discussions were held on the processes of Ease of Doing business that included the ease in the processes with which new companies can be incorporated within 2 working days to the decriminalisation of minor defaults in the companies act.
He thanked the Srinagar Chapter for its cooperation and asked the newly elected Chairperson to organise such more events and keep effective liaison with the Srinagar and Jammu offices for creating conducive environment not only to encourage young & budding entrepreneurs to come up for starting new businesses but ensuring high compliances by the existing 2500 plus odd companies and LLPs that are incorporated in this jurisdiction.
