Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police on Thursday achieved significant success by recovering 67 grams of Charas from a drug peddler during Naka checking near Mandir Masjid Point.
As per reports, an active Naka was laid by Police Station Nowabad led by SHO Nowabad Inspector Rajesh Khajuria. The suspect, who turned suspicious on seeing police Naka, was rounded up. On search, 67 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession.
The accused was identified as Ishwar Giri, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, presently staying at Bhootnath Temple.
He was arrested, and a case under NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Nowabad.
The overall arrest and recovery were made under the supervision of Dy SP Headquarters Swati Sharma.
