Former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti Monday said that the delimitation commission proposal has not come as a surprise and it is another onslaught on the democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking with the media at the party headquarters, Mehbooba said that PDP was always suspicious and the delimitation commission is basically the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) agenda.
“BJP wants to strengthen its constituencies. They want to disempower the majority communities be it in Rajouri, Chenab valley,”Mehbooba as having said.
Mehbooba said that merging Anantnag parliamentary seat with the Jammu regions has made their voters irrelevant.
“How will a parliamentarian reach Rajouri or Chenab valley when the road remains closed for six months,” she said.
