Living up to the motto and traditions of the Indian Army ” *Seva Paramo Dharma* ” the Ningli Army Camp of Uplona Rashtriya Rifles organised a photography competition for youth of the local villages under the aegis of Headquarter 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles.
The event aimed to introduce professional photography to children, develop the propensity for it and educate them about career prospects in field of photography. The children were guided by a professional photographer who taught tips & tricks of photography as well as the use of DSLR’s and mobile phone cameras.
The participants were educated about the science of photography by a professional photographer Mr Hakeem Junaid wherein they were taught tips and tricks of photography using the DSLRs and Mobile phones as well. The competitions were conducted in three different categories including Kashmiri culture, scenic beauty of Kashmir and own choice photography. A total of 50 students participated and displayed their best photos to the judges and a total of nine students were selected based on their best photos, later all students discussed their interest in learning about this relatively new field for them.
The nine winners in three different categories were felicitated at the end of the competition. The youth of these far-flung villages have appreciated the efforts.
