Altaf Bukhari led Apni Party today held a protest march outside the party headquarters in Srinagar against the recommendations of the delimitation commission, however they were not allowed by authorities to lead protest march towards the Civil Secretariat.
Holding placards, “Delimitation Report unacceptable”, “Backdoor entry of non-domicile through land reforms unacceptable”, and the Apni party workers raised slogans against the commission’s recommendations outside the party headquarters in Srinagar.
Apni Party Chief Syed Aultaf Bukhari while speaking to the media said, they had scheduled a protest march against the recommendations of the Delimitation commission, however they are not allowed to proceed towards the civil secretariat.
“We had apprised the Government about our peaceful protest and we wanted to march towards the civil secretariat and the purpose of the today’s protest is over the report of delimitation commission’s report which is unacceptable”, adding he said, “The delimitation commission in Jammu and Kashmir should have been through a mandate, which is according the 2011 census”.
He further said that the freedom of the press is being curtailed and are not allowed to do their work independently. Talking about the Real Estate Summit in Jammu, Mr. Bukhari said the backdoor efforts are being made to bring the people to the valley, which they won’t let happen.
He also expressed dissatisfaction over the SIT report over the Hyderpora encounter.
