Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, R R Bhatnagar, today visited Government Medical College, Doda, to review ongoing construction works being executed on different utilities in the institute.
Principal Secretary PWD (R&B), Shailender Kumar, accompanied the Principal Secretary.
Advisor had a detailed assessment of various ongoing development works in the GMC which inter alia included construction of administrative block, boys and girls hostel and residential blocks besides other vital facilities.
Advisor directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up pace of progress on hostel building so that it could be completed at the earliest. He also asked the concerned Executive Engineers PHE and PDD to take up the works concerning their respective departments on priority.
While inspecting construction works on hostel building, Advisor asked the concerned to properly examine the interior of the hostel and ensure necessary modification in the existing plan, if required.
Later, Advisor visited Associated Hospital GMC and inspected functioning of different wards and interacted with the hospital authorities enquiring about the healthcare facilities being extended to the patients there. He emphasized the need for further improving the working of the institute so that the patients do not suffer on this account.
Advisor also inspected the construction work being done on additional blocks and asked the executing agency for streamlining the ongoing work on emergency ward.
He exhorted upon the executing agencies to expedite the ongoing construction works in GMC for completion within the stipulated time period.
Principal Government Medical College, Doda, Dr Noor Ali, presented a detailed account regarding the faculty position and functioning of the college. He also highlighted other important issues which need to be taken up with the concerned for timely disposal.
Additional District Commissioner, Superintendent Engineer, Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Director (P&S) GMC, Executive Engineers of concerned departments and Medical Superintendent AH, GMC, were present.
