Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Sham Lal today chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee Kishtwar to discuss the formulation and implementation of rational traffic management Action plan in the district.
Discussion was held on the formulation of district traffic management plan on rational basis besides to declare some zones as non-traffic zones to avoid the congestion in the market places.
During the meeting ,ADDC Kishtwar stressed for making collective efforts to mitigate the road congestions in the township and urged the concerned officers to ensure close interdepartmental coordination for minimizing the road congestion and traffic mismanagement.
On the issue of Decongestion at Main Bus-stand Kishtwar, ADDC Kishtwar directed ARTO Kishtwar to ensure the relocation of stand for Padhyarna,Paddar and Galhar bound passenger vehicles from the non-traffic zone along side the national highway at market places to Main Bus stand Kishtwar for ensuring free flow of traffic.
Besides it was also stressed in the meeting to ensure the implementation and operationalization of entry and exit points at main bus stand so that the unnecessary hussle could be avoided.
Laying special stress on the checking the illegal operation of the tour and travel agencies in the district ,ADDC kishtwar asked the ARTO Kishtwar to expedite the process of the verification of tour and travel agencies as per the guidelines issued and to weed out the illegal one.
DYSP HQ Satish Kumar, ARTO Kishtwar Romesh Smotra,EO MC Taraq Balwan, representatives of tourism department and other departments besides president transport union attended the meeting.
