OnePlus Nord 2 gets a new edition in India
OnePlus has launched a special edition of its mid-range flagship phone — Nord 2. Called OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man edition, the smartphone comes in a single variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and is priced at Rs 37,999. The company has joined hands with Bandai Namco to add Pac-Man game theme design elements to the Nord 2 smartphone that was launched earlier this year
New: Dual film colour
The OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man edition has a dual film colour rear panel. The smartphone looks grey in colour but has phosphorescent ink on its innermost film which gives it a sea green tint.
New: Glow-in-the-dark back panel
The smartphone features a unique glow in the dark back panel that outlines the Pac-Man maze in neon. The phosphorescent film absorbs light and produces a faint light in dark.
New: Pac-Man game details
The back panel of the smartphone also sports a Pac-Man at the bottom of the camera unit and small reflective dots all over the panel that resemble the cookies or pellets in the Pac-Man game.
New: OnePlus logo at different place
The company has moved its logo at the bottom right corner of the back panel. In the Nord 2 smartphone, the OnePlus logo is placed at the centre of the back panel.
New: Retro game style app icons
The icons of basic pre-installed apps on the smartphone such as Camera, Settings, Weather, Gallery and others get a retro theme like 4-bit games.
New: Pac-Man style wallpapers
The special edition OnePlus smartphone gets seven new Pac-Man style wallpapers. Two wallpapers are animated and they change when you lock or unlock the device.
New: Fingerprint scanner design and animation
The on-screen fingerprint scanner gets a maze-like design as seen in the Pac-Man game. The animation over the scanner features characters from the popular game.
New: Pac-Man theme ringtone and notification sound
The smartphone gets a new Pac-Man theme ringtone and notification tone. It gets a game themed alarm sound as well.
New: Charging animation
When you connect the OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man edition smartphone to a charger, you will see an animation where Pac-Man is eating the pellets, just like in the original game.
New: Pre-installed Pac-Man256 game
The smartphone comes with pre-installed Pac-man256 game. The game is available to download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Not New: Display and camera
The special edition smartphone shares the same hardware with the original Nord 2. It features the same 6.43-inch AMOLED punch-hole display with 90Hz refresh rate. It also gets a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera setup at the back and a 32MP selfie shooter at the front. There are no changes in the side design as well.
Not New: Processor
The OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man edition is also powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. Earlier it was rumoured that the device will get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7788G chipset.
Not New: Charging cable
Although the special edition smartphone gets completely new packaging with Pac-Man design elements, the device comes bundled with the brand’s signature red coloured charging cable.
