In view of upcoming Festivals Deepawali and Urs Shah Asrar-Ud- Din Sahib, an intensive market checking was today conducted by the designated market enforcement team, under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Kishtwar Akhtar Hussain Qazi in Kishtwar town on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma.
A team of officers comprising, Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramood kumar, Asstt. Controller Legal Metrology, Food Safety Officer, Kishtwar, I/C TSO Kishtwar, Inspector/Team of Municipal Committee Kishtwar, and Police Party checked the quality and rate lists of Vegetables/ Fruits / Sweets and other essential commodities.
During the market checking, rotten vegetables/ fruits were destroyed on the spot, and unlawful encroachments from the footpaths were also removed.
Moreover, Weight Measuring Machines of the erring Vegetables/ Fruit sellers have been seized. Besides, an amount of Rs. 38,800/has been realized as compounded fine from the defaulters / erring shopkeepers on the spot. Strict instructions have been issued to the defaulters to maintain the hygienic condition and display of rate lists and other necessary documents at conspicuous places at their shops and not to encroach the footpaths.
