In view of recent mis-happenings in the Valley, Security Forces in Kupwara came forward to reassure the migrant labours working in Kupwara, of their safety and security here. JKP led the initiative in conjunction with Army, CRPF and intelligence agencies and took all measures to handle the situation. Migrant labourers were called in at nearest police stations in various parts of Kupwara district.
Indian Army took a step forward to provide humanitarian assistance in conjunction with JKP to these families to mitigate their hardship in such a distressing situation. One labourer at PS Kalaroos requested for an ambulance to shift his sick wife to Kupwara and he didn’t want to travel in any taxi. Kalaroos Company stepped in to assist them and shifted the family along with two children. Similarly breakfast, lunch and other humanitarian assistance were provided to migrant labourers at PS Trehgam by Trehgam Company. The officers of Army personally spoke with the distressed labours and assured them of of their safety and any kind of assistance.
