The Central Government has reinstated IAS officer Shah Faesal. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has posted Jammu and Kashmir IAS officer Shah Faesal as Deputy Secretary in the Union Ministry of Tourism two days ago.
Shah Faesal, a 2010 batch IAS topper of Jammu and Kashmir cadre, had resigned from government services in January 2019. After this he started his own political party Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM). However, he said goodbye to politics in August 2020.

Then he had said in the tweet- ‘Eight months of my life (January 2019 to August 2019) put so much pressure on me that I was almost finished. I lost almost everything I had earned over the years chasing a false hypothesis. Jobs, friends, reputation, public goodwill everything. But I never lost hope. My idealism has let me down.
Supporters of BJP’s policies on social mediaAfter resigning he planned to contest the assembly elections in March 2019 by forming his own political party Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement. He was arrested on August 5, 2019, in the wake of abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into union territories.
After his release, in August 2020, Faesal quit politics and started showing signs of returning to government service. He was a strong supporter of the policies of the current BJP government on social media. He often shared speeches of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on his Twitter handle.
