A day long multi speciality medical camp was organised here at Tangdhar today. It was a joint effort of Shakti Vijay Brigade of Indian Army and Shahamadaan Society, Tangdhar.
Eight doctors from SKIMS Srinagar and other hospitals from various specialities to include nephrology, endocrinology, paediatrics, gynaecologist and obstetrics provided their services in the camp. In addition, three medical officers of Indian Army and a dentist from civil society along with paramedic staff rendered medical care to the people.
The medicines were provided free of cost to the people during the camp.Hundreds of people especially ladies and children benefited from the medical camp. The doctors were assisted ably by the Aarogya Sevikas trained by the Indian Army to provide basic medical aid and care.
They have also been covering all the villages to educate people on health, hygiene and anti-drug abuse. During the camp also, they educated people on these issues including Covid-19.
Later the doctors were felicitated by Brigadier SP Consul, Commander Shakti Vijay Brigade for their contributions in the medical camp. Mr Nisar Ahmed Khwaja, Joint Director Geology and Mining played a key role in organising the doctors from Srinagar.
