The Mumbai Police on Monday enhanced Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s security and deployed a van outside his residence a day after a note threatening him and his father, Salim Khan, was found.
The authorities have taken the threat seriously as the note was found on the bench, where Salim Khan would sit after his morning walk. A police officer said they were scanning CCTV footage of the area to identify the person who left the note.
The police on Sunday registered a case against an unknown person for threatening to actor and his father. They said as part of his daily routine, Salim Khan was on his walk when his security personnel found the note. “Moosewala jaisa kar doonga [I will do a Moosewala],” said the note referring to Salman Khan and the murder of the singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala in Punjab last month.
Salim Khan subsequently registered a case against an unknown person.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which allegedly killed Moosewala, threatened Salman Khan in 2018.
