Around seven cars and about two dozen motorcycles were gutted in the fire in the premises of Satwari police station late last night. The fire was so great that its flames and smoke could be seen far away. The fire brigade personnel who reached the spot brought the fire under control after a lot of effort.
A fire broke out in the premises of Jammu’s Satwari police station late on Saturday night. Soon the fire started engulfing the seized vehicles parked in the premises. On coming to know about the fire, police personnel reached the spot and started efforts to extinguish the fire. Simultaneously, the fire department was informed. About seven cars and about two dozen motorcycles were burnt in this fire.

According to the information, the fire broke out in the premises of Satwari police station at around 2.45 pm on Saturday night. After this, four fire tenders reached the spot, which brought the fire under control. The building of the police station has been saved from coming in the grip of fire.
Seven confiscated cars and over a dozen two-wheelers were completely gutted in the blaze, a fire brigade official said.
