Police on Wednesday arrested two militant associates of proscribed militant outfit LeT in Shopian.
Incriminating material including arms and ammunition recovered from their possession. In a statement issued to media, the police spokesman said, “During the course of investigation of Case FIR No. 14/2022 of PS Zainapora, officers learnt about the involvement of two militant associates identified as Aqib Mushtaq Lone son of Mushtaq Ahmed Lone and Amir Amin Sofi son of Mohd Amin both residents of Shadcheck linked with proscribed militant outfit LeT.” ” Subsequently, both the accused were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody,” he said. “On their disclosure incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 01 AK-47 rifle, 01 AK-47 Magazine & 24 live rounds of AK-47 were recovered. ” “Further investigation into the matter is in progress,” he added.
