Authorities on Saturday said that traffic on Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir valley with the outside world, may remain suspended in view of heavy rainfall prediction issued by MeT department. As per the advisory of Jammu and Kashmir Traffic police, In view of heavy rainfall prediction issued by MeT department, tomorrow traffic on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) may remain suspended. However, if NHW remained open inspite of prdicted rainfall then LMVs (Passenger)/ private Cars shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar (strictly one way) on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. TCU Jammu shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.
CUT OFF TIMING: LMVs/private Cars from Nagrota (Jammu) at 1000 hrs to 1300 hrs, & from Jakheni (Udhampur) at 1100 hrs to 1400 hrs (subject to change depending on the road position then) No Vehicle shall be allowed before and after cut off timings.
HMVs/Load Carriers : Subject to better road condition, HMVS shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after assessing the traffic situation on NHW. TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVS.
SFs Convoy Movement: Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/ traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW.
MUGHAL ROAD/SSG ROAD/KISHTWAR-SINTHAN ROAD
Mughal Road, Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri Road and Kishtwar-Sinthan Road closed for vehicular movement by the Administration in view of snow accumulation.
