In furtherance to tightening noose on narcotics smugglers under Operation Sanjeevani ,on 7th Jan, police foiled a narcotics smuggling bid at Ramban. During the routine naka checking at Naka Shaan Palace, one truck bearing registration number PB 07 Z 7091
which was on its way from Kashmir towards Jammu was stopped for checking at Naka point Ramban and during checking, 8 kg poppy straw like substance was recovered for the cabin of the said truck and on questioning, the owner of the truck disclosed his identity as Hardeep Singh S/o Santokh Singh, villagr Seikhamatta PO Hajipur, Hoshiarpur, Punjab and driver of the truck as Dilsher Singh S/O Mejor Singh R/o Mahanjan, Roharan, Kathunagar, Amritsar Punjab. The above said accused persons were arrested on spot and the said truck was seized on spot also.
On this, a case FIR no 05/2022 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Ramban and investigation set into motion.
The overall recovery and arrest was made by police party headed by Insp Sandeep Charak SHO Ramban under supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen DySP Hqrs Ramban and under overall supervision of Ms Mohita Sharma IPS, SP Ramban.
