Take effective measures for boosting agricultural production for ameliorating the socio-economic status of farmers
RAJOURI, January 04: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Farooq Khan today visited Rajouri district and reviewed the developmental scenario of the district here in a meeting of the concerned officers held in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bungalow Nowshera.
Officers who attended the meeting included Officers who were present during the event included DDC Rajouri, Vikas Kundal; SSP, Mohd Aslam; ADDC, Pawan Kumar; DFO Nowshera, Neelima Shah; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambayal; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CAO, Som Singh; CHO, Madan Lal; ALC, Manisha and other concerned officers.
The Advisor took a detailed stock of the physical and financial achievements under different schemes and projects being executed by PWD, Jal Shakti, RDD, Power, JKPCC, Education, Health, I&FC Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry and other Departments, in the district.
Issues about the execution of works on the projects were also discussed threadbare in the meeting.
Taking stock of the progress made under the Capex budget, the Advisor took the physical and financial achievements into different components. Taking strong note of the meagre expenditure of the funds, the Advisor asked the concerned officers to ensure that funds provided under the district Capex are utilised timely.
Discussing the performance of the PWD Sector, it was informed that under CRF, the work on 02 schemes out of 06 is complete and 04 are in progress. Under NABARD, the work on 12 schemes out of 52 is complete while in cities and towns, the work on 56 schemes out of 78 is complete.
While reviewing the PMGSY sector, it was informed that out of 91, the work on 26 is complete and almost all schemes are to be completed this year and all eligible habitations would also be covered.
Taking stock of the progress under the Power sector, the Advisor took a detailed account of the progress made under DDUY, PMDP-U, PMDP-R and other important schemes. While taking note of the unscheduled power cuts, he asked the concerned officer to strictly adhere to curtailment schedules.
Reviewing the Jal Jeevan Mission, it was informed that 293 schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 1550.52 crores have been approved in the district and 19 blocks of the districts are covered.
While taking stock of the progress made under the I&FC sector, it was apprised that 08 schemes out of 17 are complete and the rest are under different phases of execution.
Advisor also reviewed the progress of the labour department wherein he was informed that as many as 92611 workers have been registered on the E Shram portal. ALC was directed to ensure that all the labourers working in the district are registered with the department at the earliest.
While taking note of the less cess collection by the labour department, the Advisor asked the ALC to mitigate the shortfall in cess collection from the contractors.
He also directed the ALC to register all the workers engaged by the Executing agencies in the District.
While discussing the measures for boosting agricultural production in the district, the Advisor asked the concerned officer to constitute more FPOs and cooperative societies in the district as they can play a vital role in doubling the farmer’s income.
He also asked the concerned officers to enhance the ultra-high-density apple plantation area in the district to raise the socio-economic status of the farmers. He also directed the CHO to formulate a District Plantation plan.
The Advisor also asked the officers to lay special focus on prompt service delivery besides ensuring speedy and timely disposal of public grievances through an effective mechanism.
He directed to mobilize all the available resources for completion of all ongoing projects besides he also asked them to clear the bottlenecks hampering the developmental works timely so that the progress on the projects doesn’t suffer.
The Advisor also stressed a prompt and efficient public delivery system and directed the officers to make dedicated efforts and leave no stone unturned to meet the developmental aspirations of the people.
He also asked them to be sensitive to public issues and resolve their genuine concerns on a priority basis. He also directed them to ensure that the benefits of the welfare schemes and programs reach the last beneficiary of the district.
