Tangdhar Valley with its abundant natural beauty is one of the best kept secrets of Kashmir. It boasts of numerous undiscovered nature trails where one can often catch a glimpse of the local fauna especially the Himalayan Fox, Himalayan Leopard and the Musk Deer. Karnah also has a massive potential for hosting off roading events and has seen a steady increase in such activities.
With an aim to encourage and to flame the spirit of adventure among the children & youth of Karnah a nature trek was again organized today in general area Baghbella along Gagadary hill over a distance of eight kms. Around 200 students including girls along with teachers participated in the trekking expedition. Accompanied by their teachers, the students participated in this excursion with great enthusiasm. This was also an opportunity for the children to interact with students of other schools, share their experiences, form new friendships and educate themselves about the local flora and fauna.
The event was organized by Zarla Skiing and Adventure Sports Club, Karnah. Similar expedition was organized by the club in the month of march also. The club is the nodal agency for conducting adventure sports in Karnah. Another off roading SUV and Bike rally is planned on 21st – 22nd May from Srinagar to Tithwal to promote adventure sports and tourism in Karnah.
