Two terrorists of “The Resistance Front”(TRF) of the Laskhar-e-Toiba were killed in an encounter with security forces in Okey area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam on Tuesday.
Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said that two TRF terrorists were killed in an encounter at Okey. However identity of the terrorists is yet to be ascertained.
They were involved in several militancy related incidents, IGP added.
Earlier a joint team of Police, army’s 9RR and 18BN of CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
As the joint team of Police approached towards suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces triggering off an encounter.
